Media Release 235- The Birmingham Police Department Launches New Public Safety Initiative: Connect Birmingham
The Birmingham Police Department is launching Connect Birmingham as our latest public safety initiative to ensure a better and safer Birmingham. Connect Birmingham allows BPD to help reduce crime and investigate criminal activity faster. This unique voluntary program allows BPD to help create a safer environment for all who live, work, and enjoy the City of Birmingham. With Connect Birmingham, business owners and citizens can choose to register or integrate their cameras to help our investigators solve the crime quickly around your location.
Registering your camera doesn’t mean anyone could access a live video stream. Registering your camera only lets us know that cameras are present at this location if a crime occurs nearby.
You can choose to share streaming continuously or based on your privacy settings.
