Arrest Made in Halloween Hit-and-Run Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives have obtained arrests warrants for two people in connection to a Halloween Hit-and-Run Accident Investigation.

The incident took place in the 5600 Block of 9th Avenue South and injured three people.

The suspects have been identified as:

  1. Justin Carter, (37), of Birmingham, Alabama.
  2. Anna Rogers, (35), of Birmingham, Alabama.

Birmingham Police Wreck Investigators presented case information to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained the following warrants for Justin Carter: Leaving the Scene of an Accident-with injuries X’s 3

Justin Carter has been arrested and booked into the Jefferson County Jail.

Birmingham Police Wreck Investigators presented case information to the City of Birmingham’s Magistrate Office. After an assessment of the information, investigators obtained the following warrant for Anna Rogers: Hindering Prosecution.

Anna Rogers has been arrested and booked into the Birmingham City Jail.

Woman and Two Small Children Injured in Trick or Treating Hit-and-Run Accident

(Media Release 230)

A woman and two small children were injured in a Hit-and-Run accident while they were trick or treating in the 5600 Block of 9th Avenue South. The incident occurred on October 31, 2023.

At around 7:55 p.m., East Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a Pedestrian Struck in the 5600 Block of 9th Avenue South.

Officers arrived on the scene when they observed three pedestrians who were injured after being struck by a vehicle. The vehicle that struck the victims fled the scene.

The victims are a 25-year-old female, a 4-year-old child, and her 9-month-old son.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and transported all three victims to Children’s Hospital.

The 4-year-old victim has suffered life-threatening injuries. The 25-year-old female and 9-month-old suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Currently, BPD Wreck investigators believe the suspect’s vehicle is a dark colored Audi A3 2009-2012 with a damaged rearview passenger mirror.
