 Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.

The victim has been identified as:

Donnie Edward Harris, (20), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.

At approximately 7:55 p.m., South Precinct officers responded to UAB Hospital (1802 6th Avenue South) on report of a person shot. They arrived on the scene to learn the victim was transported to UAB by a female. While at UAB, the victim succumbed to a gunshot wound he received within the City of Birmingham.

The preliminary investigation suggests the victim and the female were involved in a domestic argument while the two were in the 3000 block of 30th Avenue North. The female was transported to the Birmingham City Jail with charges pending.
