Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Monday, February 1, 2021.

The victim has been identified as:

Eula Moore, (75), B/F, of Birmingham, Alabama. 

At approximately 10:40 p.m., West Precinct officers responded to 1481 Edwards Street on report of a person down inside of a residence. Officers arrived on the scene and entered the residence. Officers observed a victim lying unresponsive in the hallway of the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Responding officers then conducted a secondary search of the residence where they located a second victim lying unresponsive in a nearby bedroom suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced both victims deceased.

At this time, detectives will be investigating the victim found in the hallway as a homicide investigation; detectives will be investigating the victim found in the bedroom as an unclassified death. Details are limited at this time.

This is Birmingham’s 9th murder investigation of 2021.
