Media Release 31- Double Homicide-10th Avenue Wylam

Double Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a double homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Friday, February 16, 2024.

The victims have been identified as:

  1. Angeliyah Webster, (20), B/F, of Birmingham, Alabama.  
  2. Christan Norris, (20), B/M, of Irondale, Alabama.

On Thursday, February 15, 2024, West Precinct officers and BPD’s Special Victim’s Unit detectives began investigating the disappearance of Angeliyah Webster and Christian Norris. The couple was last seen on Valentine’s Day 2024 after leaving a residence in a White Ford Tauras to go out on a movie date.

On Friday, February 16, 2024, the investigation led detectives and officers to the 4100 Block of 10th Avenue Wylam where officers located the couple’s White Ford Tauras.

Upon further investigation, officers observed the victims inside the vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The preliminary investigation suggests the couple were both victims of a homicide.

There is no one in custody.

This is Birmingham’s 13th & 14th murder investigation of 2023 with 1 justifiable death investigation.

FBI Uniform Crime Reporting guidelines do not require law enforcement agencies to include justifiable death investigations in the total homicide investigations counts.
