Arrest Made in the Jasmine Price Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives have obtained warrants for arrests in connection to the murder of Jasmine Price. Price was killed on Friday, January 13, 2023, in the 800 block of 1st Street West.

The suspect has been identified as:

Raquan Wilson, (26), of Birmingham, Alabama.

Birmingham Police Detectives gathered information and presented to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained a warrant for Murder. On Monday, February 6, 2023, Wilson turned himself in at Jefferson County Jail where he will be held without bond.

Homicide Investigation

Media Release 12

 

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Friday, January 13, 2023.

The victim has been identified as:

Jasmine Clevette Price, (33), B/F, of Birmingham, Alabama.

At approximately 11:00 AM, North Precinct officers were dispatched to the 800 Block of 1st Street West on report of multiple shots fired.

Officers arrived on the scene and observed an SUV that had collided with an apartment complex building.

While officers were on the scene, the SUV became engulfed in flames. Birmingham Fire and Rescue (BFR) personnel arrived on the scene and extinguished the flames. BFR discovered the victim inside of the vehicle unresponsive suffering an apparent gunshot wound. BFR pronounced the victim deceased.

The preliminary investigation suggests multiple shots were fired in and around the 800 Block of 1st Street West. It is unclear if the victim was caught in the crossfire or targeted.

Currently, there is no one in custody.
