Media Release 34- Homicide Investigation 33rd Street Ensley

Homicide Investigation

 The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Saturday February 19, 2022, at approximately 10:50 a.m.

The victim has been identified as Anthony Jackson, (46), b/m, of Birmingham, Alabama.

 Officers from the West Precinct responded to a ShotSpotter call of six rounds fired at 1745 33rd Street Ensley. Upon arrival officers discovered the victim in the front lawn unresponsive. The Jackson was pronounced deceased on the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue.

Details are limited at this stage of the investigation. The suspect(s) is currently at large. Updates will be provided as this case develops.

This is Birmingham’s 12th murder investigation of 2022 with 1 justifiable death investigation.
