Officer Involved Shooting
The Birmingham Police Department reports an officer involved shooting investigation is underway. The incident occurred on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.
The deceased will be identified upon notification of next of kin.
At approximately 5:54 p.m., officers encountered the suspect in the Tom Brown Village Housing Community. A foot pursuit ensued which led to the 4300 block of Morris Avenue. During the interaction the suspect was shot. Officers immediately rendered aid and summoned medical attention from Birmingham Fire and Rescue. The suspect was pronounced deceased on the scene. There were no officers injured during this incident.
Alabama Law Enforcement Agency will be the lead investigative agency.
