BPD Detectives Arrest Suspect in Dawson Tarps Workplace Shooting

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives have obtained a warrant for an arrest in connection to a workplace shooting that occurred on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Dawson Tarps (2617 24th Street North).

The suspect has been identified as:

Antoine Dailey, (36), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.

At around 8:50 a.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to a Person Shot call at Dawson Tarps.

Officers arrived on the scene and then entered the warehouse when they observed an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim remains hospitalized in stable condition.

On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, Antoine Dailey turned himself into police custody.

On Thursday, March 7, 2024, Birmingham Police Detectives presented case information to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained a warrant for Attempted Murder on Antoine Dailey.

Antoine Dailey is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail; he has a $60,000 Bond.
