Death Investigation Update
The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives have confirmed foul play was not involved in the death of a person found deceased in the 1600 block of 7th Avenue South.
All additional questions regarding the circumstances surrounding this death should be made to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
Unclassified Death Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives are conducting an unclassified death investigation. The incident occurred on Thursday, February 25, 2021. The deceased has not been identified.
At approximately 6:51a.m., the Birmingham 911 Communications Division received a call of a person down in the 1600 block of 7th Avenue South. Officers from South Precinct responded to find a woman unresponsive lying on the ground near a parking deck.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue and the Jefferson County Coroner responded and pronounced the victim deceased.
An investigation is underway. Detectives have not determined if foul play was involved in this incident. The cause of death will be determined by the Jefferson County Coroner.
