Media Release 53- Homicide Investigation- Blocton Avenue

Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

The victim has been identified as:

Eliazin Dominguez-Solis, (37), H/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.

Shortly after 10 a.m., West Precinct officers were dispatched to a Person Down call at a business located at 6233 Blocton Avenue.

Officers arrived on the scene and then observed the victim lying unresponsive outside the business suffering from unknown trauma.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The preliminary investigation suggests a person driving by observed the victim lying unresponsive and then dialed 911.

Our officers and detectives observed evidence on the scene that led us to believe this is a homicide investigation.

There is no one in custody.

This is Birmingham’s 26th murder investigation of 2024 with 3 justifiable death rulings.
