Media Release 66- Homicide Investigation- 67th Street Ensley
The Birmingham Police Department reports a homicide investigation is underway. The incident occurred on Sunday, April 3, 2021.
The victim has been identified as Antwon Truss, (36), b/m, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 12:45 a.m., officers from the Birmingham Police Department’s West Precinct responded to 1441 67th Street on a call of a person shot. Officers arrived to find the victim (adult male) unresponsive suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue.
The victim was involved in a verbal argument prior to being shot. The suspect (Adult female) has been arrested in connection to this homicide. Updates will be provided as this case develops.
This is Birmingham’s 29th murder investigation of 2022 with 3 justifiable death investigation.
The Birmingham Police Department adheres to FBI Uniform Crime Reporting guidelines set for all law enforcement agencies across the United States. FBI Uniform Crime Reporting guidelines do not require law enforcement agencies to include justifiable death investigations into the total homicide investigations counts.
