Arrests Made in the Jada White Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives have obtained warrants for two arrests in connection to the murder of Jada White. Jada White was shot and killed on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, while in the 3000 Block of Avenue F.

The suspects have been identified as:

  1. Arnold Laterrant Fuller, (27), B/M, of Midfield, Alabama.
  2. Daemar Marco Martin, (22), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.

Birmingham Police Detectives presented information on the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained one arrest warrant for Murder on each suspect.

Arnold Fuller turned himself into police custody.

Daemar Marco Martin was arrested in Birmingham by BPD Homicide detectives and West Precinct patrol officers.

Both suspects are in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail with No Bond.

The motive in this homicide appears to be Jada White was shot while with a group of teens who may have been vandalizing a house/car.

 Homicide Investigation

(Media Release 72)

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.

The victim has been identified as:

Jada Mahogany White, (16), B/F, of Birmingham, Alabama.

At approximately 2:30 AM, West Precinct officers were dispatched to the 3000 Block of Avenue F on report of multiple Shot Spotter alerts.

Officers arrived on the scene and observed the victim lying unresponsive on the sidewalk suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers located a second victim (female juvenile) nearby suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue (BFR) personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim lying on the sidewalk deceased. BFR treated the second victim for a graze wound.

The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was with a group of juveniles in the area possibly trying to fight a separate group of juveniles. The altercation led to shots being fired.

There is no one in custody.
