The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Saturday, March 21, 2021 at 1635 Alameda Avenue.
The victim has been identified Montrell Fredrickgus Holloway, (22), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 6:14 p.m., officers from the West Precinct responded to a person shot at the residence. Officers arrived and discovered the victim, Montrell Holloway in a hallway of the residence with an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded to the residence and the victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The information gathered thus far indicates the motive of this homicide is domestic in nature. The Birmingham Police Department has the suspect in custody. The identity of the suspect will be release after formal charge are filed.
