Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Monday, April 25, 2022.
The victim has been identified as Jomorion Gordon, (19), b/m, of Birmingham, Alabama.
Just after 2:00 p.m., officers from the East Precinct responded to the 8300-block of 4th Ave South. Officers arrived and observed a vehicle that struck a tree. Inside was an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service responded to the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital. Detectives were later notified the victim succumbed to his injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was shot at another location and attempted to drive to the hospital. Additional information is limited. No arrest has been made nor has a motive been established. Updates will be provided as this case develops.
