The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Monday, April 5, 2021 in the 1900 block of Druid Hill Drive.
The victim has been identified as Travio Ollison, (19), b/m, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., officer from the North Precinct respond to the location on a call of a person shot. Officers arrived and discovered the victim, Travio Ollison laying on the side walk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to UAB Hospital by Birmingham Fire and Rescue. Shortly after arrival Ollison succumb to his injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicates an altercation occurred amongst two individuals who were living together. During this dispute, both parties called the victim and the suspect to the location who intervened in the dispute. A physical altercation ensued and Ollison was shot. The suspect was taken into custody and being questioned by detectives.
