Homicide Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Friday, May 5, 2023.
The victim has been identified as:
Adrian Dewayne Christian, (44), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.
At around 11:35 PM, North Precinct officers were dispatched to the 1400 Block of 5th Street West on report of a Person With a Gun. The call was updated to a Person Shot Call.
Officers arrived on the scene and observed the victim unresponsive in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
The preliminary investigation revealed there was a person outside of the victim’s residence with a gun. The victim exited his residence and was subsequently shot.
There is no one in custody.
