Media Release 98-Homicide Investigation- 600 block Sheridan Road

Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Monday May 16, 2022.

The victim will be identified upon notification of next of kin.

Just after 9:00 a.m., officers from the West Precinct conducted a welfare check at 613 Sheridan Road in the South Hampton Community. Officers entered the residence and discovered the victim in a front room unresponsive. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel. The victim sustained injuries consistent with evidence of a homicide. A formal medical examination will be conducted by the Jefferson County Coroner’s office.

Details are limited in this investigation. No arrest has been made. Updates will be provided as this case develops.
