Media Release-Homicide Investigation Underway in the Kimbrough Homes Housing Community
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Wednesday night on January 12, 2022.
The victim has been identified as De’Undray Nakil Haggard, (18), b/m of Birmingham, AL.
Just after 8:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of John Bryant Road on a call of a person shot. When officers arrived the victim De’Undray Haggard was found on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Haggard was pronounced deceased on the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue.
The preliminary investigation indicates the victim met the suspect at the location. During their interaction the suspect shot the victim multiple times prior to fleeing the location of foot. The suspect is currently at large. Updates will be provided as this case develops.
