PSA: Children and teens talk to adults about gun violence
The Birmingham Police Department released a Public Service Announcement (PSA) video on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, featuring local children and teenagers speaking about the potential impact of gun violence on their futures.
The PSA theme is: “It is time to put the guns down.”
The video begins with an unidentified child riding a bicycle when the sound of gunshots ring out and a person is heard calling 911 to report a child has been shot. Officers are then dispatched to assist the child. The sound of a ticking clock begins as the youth (preschool age up to 16 years old) plea for adults to end gun violence and help them live and thrive and build a better future and a safer Birmingham.
