Arrest Made in the Keenetheen Royall Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department reports detectives have obtained a warrant for an arrest in connection to the murder of Keenetheen Royall. He was shot and killed on Saturday, March 16, 2024, in the 1200 Block of 4th Avenue West.

The suspect has been identified as:

Jaiden Davis, (19), B/M, of Center Point, Alabama.

Jaiden Davis Arrested for Separate Murder Warrant

Jerry Lewis Jr. was shot and killed on Monday, March 11, 2024, in the 10 Block of 1st Avenue Southwest.

On Thursday, April 4, 2024, the Birmingham Police Department’s Crime Reduction Team arrested Jaiden Davis at a residence in Center Point, Alabama for the murder of Jerry Edward Lewis Jr.

Jaiden Davis was transported to the Jefferson County Jail and booked in with No Bond.

Jaiden Davis Identified as Suspect in March 16th Homicide

BPD Homicide detectives identified Jaiden Davis as a suspect in the murder of Keenetheen Royall.

On Monday, July 29, 2024, Birmingham Police Detectives presented case information to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained a warrant for Murder on Jaiden Davis for Keenetheen Royall’s murder.

Jaiden Davis is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail held with No Bond for both murder charges.

Homicide Investigation

(Media Release 50)

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

The victim has been identified as:

Keenetheen Royall, (24), B/M, of Birmingham, Alabama.  

At approximately 2:05 p.m., West Precinct officers were dispatched to a Shot Spotter alert in the 1200 Block of 4th Avenue West.

Officers arrived on the scene and then observed the victim lying unresponsive in the roadway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The preliminary investigation suggests multiple shots were fired in the 1200-1400 Block of 4th Avenue West and the victim was struck by gunfire.

We believe the victim was targeted in this shooting.

There is no one in custody.
